On June 15th Maria DeKoker, Richard Thomas and I attended the Olympia Air Show. There were aircraft on display to photograph and, of course, aircraft in the skies. The gates opened at 9 am, the flying began about noon and lasted til 4:30 pm and included military and civilian aircraft.

The Boeing B-17 flying fortress, on which you could book a ride, was there, the Curtiss P40-E Kittyhawk also plus several others. The West Coast Ravens are a group of pilots from the western states that engage in formation flying. Helicopters put on a show and did several water drop demonstrations.

There were several displays in the hangar and the food choices were excellent. The one downside could have been the weather.

We experienced three rain storms with some thunder and a bolt of lightning or two. All in all, a great day and I plan to attend again next year. - Doug Hall
