TPS Meetings and Competitions Cancelled Through April

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation, the Board of Directors of the Tacoma Photographic Society has decided to cancel the Photo Salon and Competition at the Spring Fair, as well as our regular Print and Projection meetings through the end of April.

Our next scheduled meeting will be the Projection Division Meeting on Thursday, May 7th, with the Print Division Meeting on May 21st.

Annual Banquet

At this time, we are not changing the Annual Banquet schedule. It is May 16th, at the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife, 1:00 pm

Annual Competition

As the Annual Banquet is still going ahead, so will the Annual Competition – with some rule changes – 9 images instead of 10 as we won’t have any from April to select from. Total of 18 images – 9 from Projection, 9 from Print.

We do have the issue of where to drop off Prints as we won’t be meeting in time for Judging. – We will communicate the plan as it develops.

Stay Well – Stay Safe

Please take care.

2020 Spring Fair Photo Contest Cancelled

At this time the TPS Board of Directors has decided to suspend the TPS sponsored Photo Salon and competition at the Spring Fair.

If the Spring Fair is moved to a later date this year, we will consider reopening the competition. Otherwise, we look forward to returning next year and seeing all the great photos.

Thank you for your support and please stay safe and stay healthy.

Fall Fair

The Washington State Fair hosts two fairs every year: The Fair, which runs from Labor Day through most of the month of September, and The Spring Fair, which runs for 4 days in April. The Fair, in September, presents a large photo salon with two competitions, The Northwest International Exhibition of Photography, and the Cascadia Photographers Exhibition.

Spring Fair

Tacoma Photographic Society has managed The Spring Fair Photo Salon for over ten years now. We like to think it is a much more relaxed affair. For one thing, all family-friendly entries will be accepted and displayed. All images that place and major category winners receive cash prizes and all awarded entries will receive a ribbon.
