Tacoma Photographic Society (TPS) members range from beginning amateur to long time semiprofessional. We challenge each other to progress in the art of photography and our meetings are designed to do just that. We meet once each month for those who wish to show projected images and once for those who prefer prints. Many members do both. Meetings consist of a competition in which each image is judged by a panel of three and then put to a popular vote by those in attendance. All images are open to comment by society members unless the image-maker chooses otherwise. It is a great way to learn from other photographers and grow in our own abilities. We encourage members to enter contests such as the Puyallup Fair and other exhibits. We sponsor our own event at the spring fair and look to our membership to help administer the activities.
